The Adicts came from Ipswich on the east coast of England, dressed in white in an amalgam of The Joker and Clockwork Orange imagery. They made a big impact in the UK, entering the national charts with their single on Sire Records - who insisted they change their name to ADX (or The Fun Adicts when on Children's TV!) With catchy, glam-punk singalong tunes and theatrical shows, The Adicts continue to grow their audience and regularly tour the USA, UK and Europe.
This limited edition yellow vinyl of The Adicts' fourth studio album is the first repressing since the 1980s, now with a new inner bag and previously unseen color photos.

Demon Records are delighted to announce the release of Haircut 100% Live! Hammersmith Odeon Spring 1982 for Record Store Day 2023, released with full co-operation of the band. Haircut 100% Live! Hammersmith Odeon Spring 1982 is an in-concert album that highlights the group at the summit of their powers – high speed funk, to-die for pop and sweet melodies against the backdrop of Haircutmania. No overdubs and the high-octane energy of youth. The group moved from being London underground darlings to chart sensations in less than six months, and within a year had disappeared into pop’s ether, leaving behind one memorable album and four Top 10 UK singles, but many have said that the real way to experience the power of the Haircuts was to see them play live.
Pressed on zinging translucent red vinyl, Haircut 100% Live! Hammersmith Odeon Spring 1982 is an absolute must for all fans of frenetic funky fabulous melodic pop. This recently unearthed recording was part of the acclaimed Pelican West 40 CD set.

A one man band born in the mid 70’s in Detroit, MI, The Happy Dragon Band is the brain child of Thomas Court. A studio wiz, synth pioneer and electronic music professor. After releasing one private press LP he went on to other pursuits and the obligatory obscurity followed. This is truly a one of a kind mashup of early analog synths, Floydian psych ballads, and even some proto new wave and reggae. The record will be getting its first ever reissue and wide release for Record Store Day 2023, and is limited to 1,000 copies worldwide.

Beauty Pill’s ambitious double album Describes Things As They Are was originally released in 2015 to rave reviews. NPR Music, Rolling Stone and Magnet Magazine all named it as one of the best albums of the year, the latter linking the album to “both Revolver and Stankonia….” The album’s status has only grown as TIME Magazine recently listed it as one of the ten best albums of that decade.
It’s finally being reissued in a beautiful deluxe double vinyl package that includes unreleased material and an amazing remaster by Amy Dragon. The Coke Bottle Clear vinyl edition can be found only at record stores starting on Record Store Day 2023.

In 1984, Robert Diggs, now known as RZA, formed a rap group with his cousins Russell Jones and Gary Grice which they called “All In Together Now”. Diggs and Grice then signed with Jamaica Records for management purposes and Jamaica convinced Tommy Boy Records to sign Diggs as a solo artist under the name Prince Rakeem in 1989. “Ooh I Love You Rakeem” was released as a single but Diggs was subsequently dropped by Tommy Boy Records, and later went on to form the Wu Tang Clan. In 1992, The Residents pondered their 20th Anniversary. A best-of collection had been proposed, and the group gathered together to draw up a potential tracklist. All was well until one of the Eyeballed Entities, unconsciously expressing something none of them had been able to verbalize, threw up on that tracklist.
Once the dust had settled, somewhere in there, amongst the resulting soggy mess of vomit, paper and ink, The Residents noticed the proposed best-of song titles had congealed into a collage of new, never before heard tunes. 'Kick A Cat' and 'Picnic In The Jungle' had become 'Kick A Picnic', whilst 'Amber' and 'Six Things To A Cycle' had become 'Six Amber Things'. You get the idea.
This was it! Inspired by the rather repulsive mess that sat before them, the group chose to take the entire episode as a sign and began recording collages of select tracks from their back catalogue as instructed by those soggy scraps. What better way to celebrate twenty long dreary years of obscure stardom and sacrifice a few of their own sacred cows at the same time?!
Never before released on vinyl, and with their 50th Anniversary in mind in 2023, The Residents now present 'Our Finest Flowers' for your consideration again. The classic 1992 20th Anniversary album, which saw The Residents rework lyrics, melodies and themes from their entire back catalog into an album of new tracks, on vinyl for the first time. Includes an insightful new essay by JIM KNIPFEL. Celebrating twenty long dreary years of obscure stardom...

The Rockfords could be called a Seattle supergroup, but the band was actually a reunion; Chris Friel and Danny Newcomb of the band Goodness and Rick Friel of Jody Watts were in a band called Shadow with Mike McCready of Pearl Jam during the mid-'80s; in the late '90s they re-formed and added Goodness vocalist Carrie Akre under the name The Rockfords (named after McCready's favorite TV show The Rockford Files). Together, they released one self-titled album for Epic in 2000 that featured production by John Goodmanson (Bikini Kill, Sleater-Kinney, Death Cab for Cutie) and a vocal turn by Nancy Wilson of Heart on the song "Riverwide;" the record was critically acclaimed but the band went back to their "day jobs" before recording a self-released EP, Waiting, also produced by Goodmanson and released in 2004. Real Gone Music's 2-LP release (in cherry wax) features both the self-titled LP and the EP, both never before on vinyl, in a sweet gatefold package. Limited to 2500 copies!

In the early 2000s, Slum Village was riding high on the success of their Fantastic and Fantastic Vol. 2 releases and upped the ante with the release of Trinity (Past, Present And Future). Produced by Hernan “Don Camel” Sforzini, the collection of songs on Sly & Robbie vs. Roots Radics: The Dub Battle, is a perfect pairing of might and creativity. These recordings can only be described as a Dub Clash, or as Roger Stefans calls it in the liner notes: “Dub Dubstock.” Taking the concept of pairing some of the greatest roots artists with some of the genre’s most beloved Dub artists adds a new dimension to the legacy of everyone involved, and serves as an epitaph to the careers of Toots Hibbert, Lee “Scratch” Perry, and Bunny “Striker” Lee. These recently departed legendary dub artists join in the enduring sounds of unreleased ‘70s productions from Osbourne Ruddock aka King Tubby who contributes to the project more than 30 years after his untimely demise.

Soul Jazz Records’ New York Noise: Dance Music from The New York Underground 1978-82.
Gets a new 20th anniversary one-off limited-edition heavyweight yellow vinyl pressing + download code exclusively for Record Store Day 2023.
This new edition features classic New York post-punk, punk funk, synth wave and no wave tracks from Arthur Russell/Dinosaur L, James White and the Contortions, The Theoretical Girls, Mars, Konk, Material, Bush Tetras, and Lizzy Mercier Descloux alongside rare tracks by the likes of Alan Vega (Suicide), Chain Gang and Implog.
New York Noise sums up the point in time and space where dance music and punk rock first met as New York’s No Wave artists such as Glenn Branca, James White alongside dance music’s experimental pioneers including Arthur Russell (Dinosaur l), Bill Laswell (Material), and Konk created new musical art forms out of this union.
“Compilations like this are necessary because they document bygone fragments of time and keep them alive for younger generations. Compilations like this are dangerous because they tend to fall in the hands of young bands who spend more time looking behind than ahead.” --All Music
“New York Noise is a comprehensive look at the post-punk and no wave era, a short period in time whose influence is still immeasurable and sensed today.” --The Guardian

George Harrison signed the band to Dark Horse Records in 1975 and put out the band’s final album, 2nd Resurrection, which featured one of their biggest hits, “From Us To You.” Billy Preston played synthesizer and served as co-producer alongside Robert Margouleff.

These are Sonny Stitt's last ever live recordings, on November 11, 1981, from Bubba's Jazz Restaurant, whose stage had been the place of so many historical jazz recordings. Stitt performs here alongside fellow tenor Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis and trumpeter Harry "Sweets" Edison, backed by the unrelenting drums and bass propulsion of Duffy Jackson and Donn Mast. This concert recording was first issued on vinyl in 1983, and has not been reissued since. This new press (on heavyweight colour vinyl) comes 40 years later as an homage to the late Sonny Stitt who died soon after the recordings, in 1982.

LEVITATION and the LIVE AT LEVITATION Vinyl Series
The first Austin Psych Fest was held in March 2008, and expanded to the three-day LEVITATION event the following year. The event quickly developed into an international destination for psychedelic rock fans, with lineups spanning the fringes of indie rock, from up-and-comers to vintage legends, and capped off with headline performances from co-founders The Black Angels, along with Tame Impala, The Flaming Lips, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Thee Oh Sees (in various forms) and many more. LEVITATION helped spark a movement, inspiring the creation of similar events across the globe and a burgeoning psych scene that would soon ignite. The LIVE AT LEVITATION series captures key moments in psychedelic rock history, and live music in Austin, Texas, pressed on beautiful limited edition colorful vinyl pressings - each an eye-popping visual representation of the music contained within.
The artists and sets showcased on LIVE AT LEVITATION have been chosen from over a decade of recordings at the world-renowned event, and document key artists in the scene performing for a crowd of their peers and fans who gather at LEVITATION annually from all over the world.

Harry Whitaker is a piano player, producer and arranger who at the age of 26 recorded Black Renaissance "Body, Mind, and Spirit," a holy grail amongst collectors of soul-jazz and rare groove, and an album so rare it's virtually a myth to many.
Made up of two long tracks that periodically build and release for forty minutes over two sides of an LP it's an improvised masterpiece combining Afrocentric spiritual soul, jazz, poetry, amazing solos, a tasty bass line or two and more than a fair share of funky beats. It's also one of the earliest jazz albums to feature rapping. "I called the project Black Renaissance because that is what I wanted to see happen - especially in music. I describe it as Dixieland circa 1976 - by the end of the songs everyone is playing together."
Given its rarity, when asked if he was surprised that people knew about the album Whitaker jokes "I've told enough people about it over the years! Now they can actually hear it. It was a record before it's time. It's not a commercial release - I think of it as classical. You can call it jazz, but it's free, it's got African roots, it's for people who people who dig that sound."
Harry Whitaker has enjoyed a successful career as a producer, arranger and composer, cutting his teeth on the best of the Roy Ayers Ubiquity releases and making a living working closely with Roberta Flack - as her musical director, even playing on her big Eugene McDaniels' written hit "I Feel Like Makin' Love." Black Renaissance "Body, Mind, and Spirit," was his first attempt at a project where he wrote and composed the music and played keys on both tracks.
Originally released in 1977 and highly considered as one of the grail titles in the Spiritual Jazz, Jazz-Funk canon. Reissued by Luv N'Haight in 2002 with a limited pressing. This repress on black vinyl will be exclusive to RSD.

A 2xLP set of rare, early Hüsker Dü live recordings, featuring original flyers and artwork. Drawn from the historical Hüsker Dü recording archives compiled by Terry Katzman, this double disc live set is an essential companion piece to the band's Savage Young Du Box Set. While the SYD release principally featured studio demos, the 28 tracks presented here are the aural and enchanting equivalent of a time machine that vividly thrusts the listener straight back to Husker Du's embryonic unsheathing on stage.
Side A dates to July 1979. Side B gives us a full year's evolution to July 1980, while Sides C and D land the listener in September 1980. Perhaps 120 people in total saw these three Longhorn performances. Until now, a handful at most have heard the playbacks. So, rare and fresh, it's all here: the songs, the driven performances, the small club intimacy of being in front of select friends, fans, and peers, with one fair shot at getting it right. These four sides compellingly document that you can't doubt that they did.

The cinematic concert event Digital Ghost showcases the incredible musicianship and vocal ability of Underoath. This live experience takes the fan track-by-track through the entire Voyeurist album and provides an emotional journey that has so uniquely defined the band over their incredible career. “The album concept came out of the larger idea that everything is a manipulation…from the news to social media to how you present yourself, even to the people closest to you. Everything is part truth and part fiction. We wanted to strip Underoath back down to exclusively truth and cut out all distractions – and made the record on our own along with our engineer JJ Revel. The result is Voyeurist.” Pressed on Sangria-colored vinyl for Record Store Day 2023.

For the fourth instalment of our much-loved Brazil 45 Boxset series, we have the privilege of presenting a selection from true hip-hop royalty, Mike D of Beastie Boys. The boxset brief is simple, a curated selection of your most beloved tracks from Brazil’s rich musical tapestry.
Mike didn’t disappoint, digging deep to unearth incredible funky psych rock, dreamy MPB and experimental nuggets. In a reflection of his most famed musical output of hip-hop and hardcore punk; it's no surprise he has cherry-picked from the experimental and leftfield side of what Brazil has to offer.
Things kick off on the first 45 with a curveball. An obscure and mysterious promotional only 7" track by Inês Soares recorded for Toyota cars and originally released in Portugal. This is paired with Nicholas Mariano's solitary 7" single 'Dita Cuja’, an ultra-raw, distorted, garage rock rough diamond. Up next, we have two leftfield offerings from the visionary composer / percussionist / instrument inventor, Pedro Santos, alongside guitarist Sebastião Tapajós. These are followed by two slices of genius taken off Hareton Salvanini's sought-after Hareton + Meta EP from 1971. Circling back to the psychedelic rock vibe, we have both sides of a supremely rare Modulo 1000 7" compacto originally released on Odeon Records in 1970. Mike’s love for the dreamy 70s MPB / ‘Clube Da Esquina-esque’ lush sound is represented by two selections from the impeccable Erasmo Carlos.
Having Mike involved, we knew this project was going to be special. He has delivered a wondrous boxset that has his identity stamped and forged in the selection.

Board bustin banshees from landlocked America! Surfin' The Great Lakes takes a largely instrumental spin through surf rock and surf themed gems. It's a massive swell of great music from Minneapolis' Kay Bank Recordings in the '60s! From the twistin' twitcher Trashmen, stripped down Chuck Berry covers, Mancini jams cut by The Mustangs, to The Satisfactions doing their take on a Beach Boys B-side! This sonic tsunami of West Coast surf and R&B music from pasty Midwestern youth is largely tunes that floated below sea level for over 50 years but also some surf greats like The Vaqueros' cold water longing for an "80 Foot Wave." Surfs up! For Record Store Day on Seaglass Blue vinyl.
